Tarrant County Enforces New Restrictions to Combat COVID-19

TARRANT COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- With now 42 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Tarrant County, Judge Glen Whitley has enforced more precautions to battle the rapid spread of the virus.

The new restrictions include closing all worship services, but will allow them to operate online. All malls and non-essential retail establishments are also being closed. These includes barber shops, hair and nail salons, and spas and massage parlors.

In-house dining at restaurants will remain closed but drive thru and take out services are still permitted.

“We cannot stress enough that Tarrant County residents practice social distancing where you stay at least 6 feet away from other individuals,” Whitley said. “You need to have sufficient space to have people be at least 6 feet apart. To whatever degree possible, we would encourage you to have sign-in logs to keep track of everyone you have come in contact with.”

Whitley also believes that any gathering of 10 or more people should not happen regardless of the situation.
