(WBAP/KLIF) — The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline jumped another two cents to $2.16 across the lone star state. Texans are paying 31-cents less for gas than the rest of the nation.
Texas still has some of the least expensive gas price averages in the country, however, prices are up week-to-week thanks to decreased gasoline stocks and maintenance at regional refineries.
If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the price gets even cheaper, at $2.12 in Dallas and $2.16 for a gallon of regular unleaded in Fort Worth.
According to Daniel Armbruster of AAA Texas, local prices have come down because crude oil prices are fluctuating.
In the midst of outbreaks in China, South Korea, and Italy, experts are exploring the effects of Coronavirus on crude oil prices.
Although there’s a correlation between Covid-19 and travel armbruster says the virus may not brunt the full blame since oil refineries usually go off line this time of year for maintenance.
