(WBAP/KLIF) — A man died Thursday during an early morning house fire in Watauga.

When firefighters arrived at the burning home on the 65-hundred block of old Mills Circle, it was fully engulfed in flames. Authorities say that a man in his 70s escaped the house fire with two other women, but returned to save a dog. He nor the dog made it out alive.
Fire crews from North Richland Hills, Keller and Haltom City responded to the blaze, which marks the first deadly fire in Watauga in 12 years.
According to WFAA, firefighters believe the fire began around 1 am in the home’s living room.
