IRVING (WBAP/KLIF)- Amazon plans to open a new distribution center near the DFW Airport. Amazon said it will lease 1 million square feet of warehouse space in the south end of the airport, bringing 1,000 new jobs.
It will be located on 2601 E Airfield Drive in Irving. This distribution deal is one of several recent moves Amazon has made to increase its footprint in North Texas.
Amazon said in a statement the jobs will pay $15 an hour and have comprehensive benefits starting on day one and that employees will pick, pack and ship customer orders. The fulfillment center is anticipated to open later this year.
