
Rio Vista, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A flu outbreak has closed the Rio Vista ISD until February 18th.
The district, about 50 minutes south of Fort Worth, canceled classes Tuesday after over three times the average number of students stayed home sick.
More than 110 students, out of a total of 770 are sick, according to the superintendent. Almost 60 of those are elementary school students.
In a statement on its website Tuesday the district said Rio Vista elementary, middle and high schools, would be closed through President’s Day. All rooms and buses will be disinfected while schools are closed.
All extra-curricular activities are also canceled.
Rio Vista ISD will close at 12:30 pm today due to flu and other illnesses. The district will be closed the remainder of the week. There will be no activities held on campuses during the school closure. School will resume normal operations on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
