(WBAP/KLIF) FORT WORTH — It took jurors less than thirty minutes to clear two Fort Worth police officers in a wrongful death lawsuit, Wednesday.
The family of 34 year old Jermain Darden sued Fort Worth police in federal court, claiming they used excessive force during a 2013 drug raid.
Defense attorneys argued that Darden refused to follow police commands, which resulted in officers being forced to use a taser and necessary force. Darden died of a heart attack during the raid.
The jury believed that officers W.F. Snow and Javier Romero were not liable for Darden’s death.
However, the Fort Worth Star Telegram says the family is planning an appeal.
