Dallas Man Convicted of Killing 5 Family Members to be Executed

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF NEWS)- A man is now set to become the 2nd person executed in Texas this year.

Nearly 18 years ago in 2002, Abel Ochoa stepped out of his bedroom high on crack cocaine and shot his wife, two daughters, father-in-law, and two sister-in- -laws in his Dallas home. One of his sister-in-laws was the only survivor after she ran to a neighbor’s house after being shot.

Now, Ochoa is facing execution nearly 18 years after being put on death row. If the execution proceeds, Ochoa will become the 2nd man in Texas, and 3rd nationwide to be executed in 2020.
