(DALLAS) WBAP/KLIF The Dallas Police Department issued an arrest warrant for a former priest in the Catholic Diocese of Dallas for sexual assault
Richard Thomas Brown, 78, was identified among others last year when Dallas Police conducted search warrants at diocese owned properties. Brown served at five different churches in the Dallas area including St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Philip in Dallas before he was removed in 2002.
In a statement issued by the Catholic Diocese of Dallas, the diocese says that in a letter from September of last year, the diocese “….expessed concern and the hope that he would be arrested.”
Also in the statement Bishop Edward J. Burns of the Dallas diocese said that “…..encourages all victims of sexual abuse to report allegations to law enforcement.”
