DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- Live Nation is opening a new concert venue in Dallas.
HiFi will be located next to the Dallas Mavericks Training Center off 35-E across from the American Airlines Center.
Ben Weeden COO of Clubs and Theater Divisions of Live Nation said this venue will have a more up-close and intimate capacity of 1,000 seats. “We wanted to find that 1,000 capacity niche that we’ve been missing in Dallas and with a market this big, we felt like there was a gap here,” said Weeden. “We can bring a significant amount of shows here that might have been skipping Dallas because there aren’t enough venues to accommodate,” he said. Weeden notes HiFi will be unique compared to other music venues in DFW. “Because of what we are investing in the sound, the experience, decor and getting the right wood for the acoustics, it’s going to be a lot different from the other venues that we’ve opened,” said Weeden. “It’ll be an evolution of everything we’ve learned over the past 10 to 15 years,” he said.
It’s set to open in May and plans to host around 150 concerts in the first year.
