ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- Military leaders and local officials are reacting to tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Congresswoman Kay Granger of Fort Worth says though it’s a difficult situation, she supports President Donald Trump’s decision to authorize the targeted killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. “We took out a very dangerous person; he was dangerous to us and to others and when you do something like that you can’t announce it you have it done the way it was done,” said Granger.
Granger made these comments at the Bell Research Center in Arlington were engineers tested out long range assault aircrafts for the military. The Secretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy also made an appearance at the research center. He said the events that unfolded this week between the U.S. and Iran were necessary to protect American Lives in the region. “Tensions are on the rise but the U.S. Military is at it’s highest alert posture and will do whatever is necessary to protect American Citizens in our national interest,” said McCarthy.
He said the aircraft capabilities like the ones they’re developing in North Texas continues to give them the technological margin to win if it came down to it. Trump said Iran now appears to be ‘standing down’ after the retaliation missle strike on two Iraqi bases housing U.S. Troops. He said no one was hurt.
