(WBAP/KLIF) – Senator John Cornyn is leaving the door open for possible witnesses in an upcoming impeachment trial.
Cornyn says witnesses could come after the presentations by both sides.
“If there’s more witnesses that 51 senators want they can be requested as they were in the Clinton trial, I believe there were three,” Cornyn said.
Cornyn said he would wait and see if former National Security Adviser John Bolton would be needed after each side has presented its case.
“I would be open to that but I would be in a better position to make that decision once we hear the presentation from the parties,” Cornyn said.
Meanwhile, there is a growing number of senators who are calling for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to move the articles of impeachment from the House to the Senate.
