(WBAP/KLIF) – President Donald Trump is weighing in on this week’s church shooting in White Settlement.
According to Police, the gunman was shot and killed by an armed parishioner within seconds of killing two church members during a Sunday service inside West Freeway Church of Christ.
The President took to Twitter on the topic late Monday and early Tuesday.
posting that his prayers are with the families of the victims of the attack at West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement.
“Lives were saved by these heroes, and Texas laws allowing them to carry arms,” the tweet read.
Armed congregants quickly stopped a crazed church shooter in Texas. If it were not for the fact that there were people inside of the church that were both armed, and highly proficient in using their weapon, the end result would have been catastrophic. A big THANK YOU to them!

A 2017 state law allowed for churches to form armed volunteer security teams. Texas leaders are now urging places of worship nationwide to implement similar programs.
Our prayers are with the families of the victims and the congregation of yesterday’s church attack. It was over in 6 seconds thanks to the brave parishioners who acted to protect 242 fellow worshippers. Lives were saved by these heroes, and Texas laws allowing them to carry arms!
