DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- North Texans pack the malls today to start off the holiday season, with many retailers offering black Friday discounts.
Angie Freed General Manager at Galleria Dallas says they expect to welcome about 100,000 people including staff.
Freed says though online shopping has become more popular, people are also coming for the experience. “They shop across all channels but they still want to experience the holiday decorations, see Santa, skate around the Country’s largest indoor Christmas tree,” Freed said. “I think people still like to feel the mood of the holidays and you just can’t get that online,” she said.

Events are planned at the Galleria all weekend including ice skating shows featuring a back flipping Santa, Slappy’s Holiday circus show and Santa’s Village. “We have a new Santa land experience this year which is really fabulous, it’s just a special experience,” said Freed.
