Tarrant County DA Requests Recusal from Dallas County DA’s Contempt Case

TARRANT COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF)- The Tarrant County District Attorney is seeking recusal after being appointed as a special prosecutor in Dallas County DA’s contempt of court case. A judge appointed Tarrant County DA Sharen Wilson, but she has requested to be recused because it will interfere with her responsibilities and duties as the DA. Dallas County DA John Cruezot was held in contempt by Judge Tammy Kemp after doing a TV interview the night before former Dallas Officer Amber Guyger’s murder trial. Kemp says he violated a gag order. Kemp was removed from presiding over the case earlier this month because of her bias. Senior Justice John McCraw Jr., sitting by assignment has been appointed to preside over the contempt proceedings.

If Wilson’s recusal is granted, they will need to find another prosecutor to try the case.
