Two Women Arrested Near Waco, Charged with Capital Murder of Two Elderly Plano Residents

PLANO (WBAP/KLIF)- Two women arrested near Waco and connected to the deaths of two elderly Plano residents are now charged with capital murder.

29-year-old Cynthia Wingate and 23-year-old Carmen Moreno were caught during a traffic stop. David Tilley with the Plano Police Department said they found two knives- one of them covered in blood, debit cards. methamphetamine and medical documents linked to the victims in Wingate’s car. Police say Moreno pulled up to the scene, with blood on her jacket asking to get something out of Wingate’s car. They were both arrested on scene.

Police say 71-year-old Theresa Coomes and 72-year-old Jimmy Farris were found dead at the Plano home.

Wingate and Moreno remain in the McLennan County Jail.
