According to Frisco PD, Officers were made aware of a report that a student from Lone Star High School was in possession of a gun on the school bus earlier that morning. About an hour later they located and detained the student that matched the description given by witnesses at a business in the area of Eldorado and FM 423. The student was identified as 17-year-old Gavin Frederick Golden of Frisco.
“The firearm was later recovered and was determined to be a BB gun that closely resembled a genuine firearm,” Sgt Evan Mattei said Wednesday.
17-year-old Gavin Frederick Golden was later arrested.
“He was charged with Exhibition of a Firearm, which is a 3rd degree felony under the Texas Education Code,” said Sgt. Mattei. “A second student, who was with Golden at the time of the incident, was detained but later released as there was no evidence to support any involvement.”
Frisco Police assured the public Wednesday that social media reports claiming that gunshots were fired and that students were injured are false. Anyone with information regarding this offense is asked to call the Frisco Police Department at (972) 292-6010.
