EL PASO (WBAP/KLIF) – The family of an elderly woman killed in this year’s massacre at an El Paso Walmart is suing the alleged gunman and the website where police said he posted a racist manifesto.
The lawsuit filed by the family of 86-year-old Angelina Maria Silva Englisbee seeks more than $1 million in damages. It names the alleged shooter Patrick Crusius, his family, and the website ‘8 chan.’ The suit claims the website “failed to control, prevent, supervise, or act in any way to protect the life of human beings.”
The lawsuit also states that ‘8-chan’ provided the “ways and means” for Crusius to carry out an “act of hate.”
Englisbee’s family is encouraging others affected by the shooting to pursue more lawsuits.
