GREENVILLE (WBAP/KLIF) – The family of the man charged in the shooting deaths of two people at a Texas A&M Commerce homecoming party this week in Greenville maintains his innocence.
23-year-old Brandon Ray Gonzalez was arrested at the autoshop where he worked Monday and remains in the Hunt County jail. Those close to Gonzalez said this week that the shooting was tragic but that Gonzalez didn’t do it.
“The people he was with know he didn’t do it,” said Gonzalez’s brother. “We need them to speak their mind because he shouldn’t be in there.”
The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office insisted they have the right guy. According to an arrest affidavit, witnesses indicate to investigators that Gonzalez was the shooter. They also said he was wearing a vest that appeared to be tactical gear. But Gonzalez said he was wearing it to serve as securiuty fir the party.
