Several DFW Schools Targeted With Online Threats

Dallas – Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – Five schools across the metroplex were on alert after threats circulated via Instagram on Sunday and Monday.

One of the threats involved Duncanville ISD where two students were detained and charged with making terroristic threats.

Other threats involved Dallas, Everman and Fort Worth ISDs.

The Dallas Morning News reports that on Sunday, Duncanville school officials were made aware of a threat on IG showing a picture of an assault rifle with the captions: “Do not come to school tomorrow,” “Your on my list” and “Say bye bye to Duncanville high school kids.”

A similar threat was made against the schools in Fort Worth.

All of the schools had extra security at targeted campus Monday morning.

As Sunday afternoon Duncanville said it had located the source of their threat in a Facebook post:

Officials at all schools take every threat seriously and investigate them thoroughly with the help of local law enforcement.
