Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – FEMA officials are in North Texas this week to assess damage from last week’s powerful tornadoes.
For what’s considered the first step in getting federal disaster aid, teams are expected to be in the region through Wednesday according to a tweet from Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.
They’re looking at damage in Garland, Richardson and Dallas where EF-2 and EF-3 tornadoes caused major damage.
The assessments will determine if Dallas County and the state are eligible for a federal disaster declaration for public assistance.
