DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- The Dallas Police Department will open an internal investigation in the aftermath of the Amber Guyger Trial after testimony uncovered questionable activities by Police. “What you saw and heard was disheartening and I can only imagine the community’s perception of who we are as a Dallas Police Department,” Hall said. “What I can say is the testimony that came out during this trial is not reflective of the Dallas Police Department,” she said. Hall specifically listed allegations of tampering with in-car video cameras and failure to render aid. In the trial we also discovered Guyger’s partner had deleted text messages or ‘evidence’. Hall said all of this will be under investigation. Hall says the department will make necessary changes and improvements moving forward. “I stand before you today fully committed to making the changes that need to be made…I’m committed to leading a city that will have the trust of the community,” Hall said. She talks about the department doubling its efforts and working with the community to ensure this trust. “We cannot do this alone…we must come together not only to heal but to work
hand in hand so that Dallas becomes the model of a safe city,” she said.
