Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley Gives State of the County

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley gives the state of county address.

Whitley says there’s a lot of great things happening in Tarrant County with public private partnerships bringing in new businesses and job opportunities. He noted the opening of Texas Live and Live by Loews hotel in Arlington and soon there will be a new ball park opening in March as well as the Dickies arena opening in Fort Worth late October.

Whitley also talked about what needs to be worked on. “We’ve got some issues we need to face..I think right now too much of our tax burden is focused on property taxes and we need to see if we can lessen that burden and reallocate it to some of the other areas,” he said.

Whitley did talk about large companies wanting to invest in Tarrant County and bringing thousands of jobs to the region. “You’ve got amazon coming in for the Air Hub they will be operational next month…you got Charles Schwab bringing close to 6,000 jobs here as one of the largest location outside of the California area…Facebook Data Center is being built,” Whitley said. “There’s very exciting things happening here,” he said.
