Texas Inmate To Be Executed For Brutal Killing Of Wife, Stepsons In Dallas Home

HUNTSVILLE  (WBAP/KLIF News) – A North Texas man who fatally stabbed his two young stepsons and killed his wife in their Dallas home in 2007 is scheduled to be executed Wednesday night.

45-year-old Robert Sparks is set to be given a lethal injection for the brutal killings of 9-year-old Harold Sublet and 10-year-old Raekwon Agnew.

Prosecutors said Sparks repeatedly stabbed his wife 30-year-old Chare Agnew and confessed to raping his 12 and 14-year-old daughters.

Sparks told investigators he committed the murders because he believed his family was trying to poison him.

His attorneys have filed several appeals claiming that their client is intellectually disabled but those efforts were turned down by lower courts.

According to the Associated Press, Sparks’ last appeal before the U.S. Supreme Court argues whether his jury was tainted by a bailiff who wore a ties showing his support for the death penalty.

If Sparks is executed, it would be the seventh in Texas this year and the 16th in the United States.
