Plano Investigates Officer Involved Shooting Following Stabbing

PLANO (WBAP/KLIF)- The Plano Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting following a stabbing on Parker Road east of Central Expressway.

David Tilley with The Plano Police Department said officers responded to a stabbing call just after 9 am. He said when the officer arrived on scene he observed one victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and the suspect armed with a knife in each hand running toward another man. Tilley said the suspect refused to stop and drop the knives so the officer shot him. “The officer gave verbal commands telling the suspect to drop the knives and get down on the ground…he did not comply and continued his aggression to the other man so the officer discharged his firearm,” he said.

The victim and suspect are being treated at a local hospital. The officer and other man were not hurt.

The victim faces charges once released from the hospital, the officer is on routine administrative leave.

This is an ongoing investigation, no further details of the suspect or victim were released.
