North Texas Volunteers Head South Following Damaging Floods

HOUSTON (WBAP/KLIF) – Volunteers from Dallas-Fort Worth are hard at work in Southeast Texas following last week’s flooding.

Close to 40 inches of rain fell in just days as Tropical Depression Imelda moves around Beaumont and surrounding areas. Many homes and businesses were flooded out.

Now, the Texas Baptist Men are on the ground making repairs to homes that need it.

“We’re one of the first non-profit groups that are starting to cleanup homes for free,” Volunteer John Hall said.

Hall said it’s also the group’s mission to help people emotionally recover from the storm.
