Dallas-based Ride Share Company Raising Money for Dallas Preschool

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- A local ride share start up company is raising money for a Dallas preschool that serves children with developmental delays. The Dallas-based ride share company, Alto, got a specially made car to promote and raise money for the Ashford rise school in Dallas.
Alex Halbardier with Alto says the company aims to provide a safer experience for riders. “We wanted to do something for back to school, right now we are a completely local brand, our entire customer base is in this neighborhood so it’s been an important part of our strategy to get involved in things that our customers care about,” said Halbardier.

Rise says the preschool provides education to kids 6 months to 6 years with and without developmental delays in an inclusive environment. “We have about 60 students- 70% percent have developmental delays, primarily down syndrome and 30% are typical children,” said Snabes. “Our children with delays mirror the behavior of our typical kids and in turn our typical kids learn a lot about leadership and working together with all kinds of people,” she said.
Alto surprised the kids by bringing the car to the school for them to decorate ..and even draw on!
“Part of the design we did the hood as a dry erase board so the kids can draw on them,” said Halbardier.

A portion of the rides will go back to the school and the car will be in service for the next few months.

The school needs to raise $1.7 million  a year to operate so each ride will bring them closer to their goal. “In addition to that donation they are going to potentially help us reach students that didn’t know about our school that need our services…we are really excited about this partnership,” said Snabes.

So if you see an alto car around Dallas, you’ll know part of the proceeds will be helping a local school.
