FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) – A patrol car being used by a Fort Worth police officer who was killed on duty in 2005 will go on display in North Texas.

Fort Worth police said ceremonies will be held Friday to honor Officer Henry “Hank” Nava and his vehicle that was decorated by mourners using flowers and photos after his death.

Nava died in December 2005 after being shot while serving a warrant.

The shooter was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Officials had no immediate law enforcement site in Fort Worth to display Nava’s patrol car at the time of his passing.

It was loaned to the American Police Hall of Fame & Museum in Titusville, Florida.

The car will go on display from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Fort Worth Police and Fire Administration Building at 2500 N. Houston St., the area Officer Nava Jr. used to patrol.

There will then be a ceremonial escort the car for its official unveiling from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Bob Bolen Complex at 505 W. Felix St.
