Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A scooter rider was hospitalized after being attacked in downtown Dallas overnight.
Photo-journalist Mike Forbes with our media partner WFAA-TV was on the scene around 1:30AM where police said the suspect stepped off of a curb at Park and Cadiz and asked ask the rider for a light. The suspect then allegedly proceeded to punch, rob and shoot the scooter rider in a leg, according to police.
Two other people who were riding with the victim had zipped ahead, but doubled back when they heard the gunshots.
The victim suffered shattered bones in his leg.
The incident happened near a homeless shelter in the area.
