Dallas Diocese to Hold Special Mass Wednesday Honoring the El Paso, Dayton, Ohio Mass Shooting Victims

DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) –  As the nation mourns in solidarity with the communities in El Paso and Dayton, Ohio… North Texas religious groups are trying to help their own communities heal.

In Dallas, Bishop Edward Burns scheduled a special mass Wednesday night to honor the lives of the 31 people killed in the massacres.

The Mass and Holy Hour will be at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral Guadalupe on Ross Avenue near North Pearl Street.

At 8 p.m., the bell of the cathedral will ring once for each person who lost their life.

Burns said the shootings have caused great pain for everyone and is urging North Texans to come together in prayer for the families of the victims.

He also called for an end to the “senseless gun violence that is all too prevalent in our country.”

Tuesday night, Fort Worth Mayor Betsy held a community-wide vigil outside City Hall in honor of the victims.

The services are a part of many that are being held throughout North Texas.
