FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Fort Worth officials arrest a man who allegedly set three fires intentionally at a home and car near Hulen Meadows Park.
David Jones Captain of Fort Worth Arson and Bomb squad says 39-year-old Courtney Eugene Smith started the fires after what began as a domestic disturbance over the weekend. “It’s very rare for someone to deliberately set fire at the points of egress, his intentions were to cause harm, and death,” Jones said.
Jones says smith knew there were children inside, and 11 years old and 19 year old and started the fires so they couldn’t escape.
No one was hurt.
Smith is charged with two counts of arson, three counts of obstruction and one count of interfering with an emergency call.
His bond is set for $195,000
