DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A former Dallas City Councilwoman was laid to rest Tuesday while the bribery case she was involved in continued to unfold in court.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 44-year-old Jeremy Scroggins pleaded guilty Tuesday to knowing about Carolyn Davis’ involvement in a housing development bribery scheme, but not reporting it. Scroggins faces three years in prison, but according to court records, will testify in exchange for a shorter sentence. He’s charged with Misprision of a Felony for concealing knowledge of the actual commission of a felony — bribery of a local government — by using his not-for-profit to funnel bribe payments from an alleged bribe payer to the recipient.
