Former Dallas City Councilwoman Killed in Suspected Drunk Driving Crash

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The woman killed in a suspected drunk driving crash Monday night in Dallas was identified Tuesday as a former Dallas City Councilwoman.

According to the Dallas Police Department,  57-year-old Carolyn Davis was driving on East Ledbetter Drive in Oak Cliff when her car was hit head on by another car traveling the wrong way on Ledbetter. The driver of that car was hurt, but is expected to survive.

Police said Tuesday the driver will be charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault.

Davis’ daughter was reportedly in the car with her and taken to the hospital with injuries.

Davis served four terms on the Dallas City council, from 2007 to 2015.
