Dallas Police: Deep Ellum Robbers Luring Victims with Marijuana

DALLAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas police are warning patrons of Deep Ellum to be on alert as they search for the suspects behind a recent series of disturbing robberies.

Investigators say they’ve received several reports from victims who say they were approached be either one or two men who offered them a drag of marijuana which made them pass out.

When the victims came to…their personal property was gone.

The first incident happened on July 11th at 1:35 a.m. at 2720 Elm Street. The victim was approached by two black men who offered the marijuana.

The first suspect is between 5′ to 5’5″ tall, weighs about 190 pounds and could be named Bonton. The second suspect is 6’00 tall, 170 pounds.

The second incident with a similar M-O happened on July 14th in the 2500 block of Main Street. Police officers found the victim passed out as they conducted foot patrols in the Deep Ellum area.

A third victim was discovered that same evening by officers who were also on foot patrol. The exact location is unknown.
