FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – An online petition calling for the removal of Mike Steele from the City of Fort Worth’s Human Relations Commission is gaining support.
The Change.org petition was started by TCU Political Science Professor Emily Farris.
She’s calling for Steele’s removal because of some posts on his Facebook page that many said are demeaning to Muslims, immigrants and transgender people.
The city’s Human Relation Commission is tasked with combating prejudice and discrimination in the city.

Councilman Brian Byrd and Councilwomen Gyna Bivens and Kelly Allen Gray said they supported Steele’s removal.
Last week, Mayor Betsy Price called on Steele to resign.
