Dallas Man Arrested For Reportedly Causing An Intentional Gas Leak in Garland

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Garland Police & Fire, responded to a gas leak just after 5:30 Saturday morning, on North Garland Road.

Officials report hearing the sound of gas coming from a regulator station, in front of one of the businesses, when they arrived. Police believed that several test points were intentionally damaged. Officers later found a bag near the regulator station which contained identifying information for 40 year old Lauro Espinosa Gonzalez, a resident of Dallas.

After further investigation, police report that they found 40 year old Gonzalez, unconscious across the street and determined he was the person responsible for the damages to the regulator station. Police believe it was an intentional act of vandalism.

Gonzalez was initially arrested for misdemeanor warrants. He is now also charged with criminal mischief – damage to public utilities. He is in the garland jail. The investigation is ongoing.
