FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price has called for the resignation of Mike Steele after hearing about offensive posts on his Facebook page. Steele has been on the Human Relations Commission since 2015. The Commission jobs is to address racial disparities in the city.
“it is his private page but since he represents himself as a member of the Human Relations Commission I’ve called for his resignation effective immediately,” Price said.
Price said they will now implement stricter guidelines and social media searches when filling these positions in the future. “I’m very disappointed in this,” Price said.
Price said she emailed Steele for his resignation, she says he hasn’t replied at this time.
