
DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Federal trial for a man accused of kidnapping a Fort Worth girl last month is set for July.
51-year-old Michael Webb is charged with Federal kidnapping. According to Police, Webb was found in a hotel room with the girl he allegedly snatched from a Fort Worth neighborhood hours after she was taken. Webb was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury last week and expressed intent to plead guilty, but opted not to do so and now maintains his innocence. He pleaded not guilty in Federal court on Monday.
A jury trial is set for July 29.
“We are determined to hold the Defendant accountable for his alleged crime,” said U.S. Attorney, Erin Nealy Cox. “If he wants a trial. which is his right, we are prepared to prove the facts before a jury. We’ll do whatever it takes to bring this man to justice.”
Webb also faces state charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Sexual Assault.
