Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Police are looking for an alleged serial robber, identified as 19-year old Ashton Moore who is accused of using a fake Facebook Marketplace profile to dupe sellers of I-Phones and MacBooks.
DPD Police investigator Bret Early says Moore, using a bogus profile with the name Keisha Jackson is targeting white and Hispanic males and females to con them out of their devices.
Detective Early says Moore has taken almost 50 people for their electronic devices by offering to pay more than the asking price if sellers meet him at a specific location in Oak Cliff in the 1900 block of North Agentia.
Early says that he is a repeat offender who has previously been arrested within other divisions of the Dallas Police Department.
Moore sets up deals through the Facebook Messenger app. Either using a woman named Keisha Jackson’s Facebook, or posing as her.
Once the soon-to-be victims arrive at the designated locations, Moore emerges claiming to be Keish Jackson’s brother. He displays a wad of cash in an envelop, but eventually finds a way to switch envelopes with one that has no money, and leaves the location with the seller’s device.
