FORT WORTH – WBAP/KLIF – More than 500 pets will be available for adoption next Saturday and Sunday at Fort Worth’s Will Rogers Coliseum for a $10 adoption fee. Fort Worth Animal Control and the Humane Society of North Texas are teaming up in an effort to find homes for dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, reptiles and some more unusual animals.
HSNT spokeswoman Cassie Lackey says North Texas area shelters have been horribly overcrowded for at least a couple of months, with many shelters seeing as many as 150 pets surrendered every day just during lunch hours.
Adoption fees include spay and neuter services, to help prevent animal overcrowding and euthanization, and prevent mammary and testicular cancers in animals. Six months ago the duo adopted more than 800 animals at this event.
The Will Rogers Coliseum hosts the event and is open both Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm both days.
