Governor Greg Abbott to Plumbers: “We’ve got This”

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott could soon have good news for Texas plumbers.

Plumbers all over the Lone Star State have been calling for a special session since the state legislature adjourned without extending the life of the Texas Plumbing Board. Without further action the board will dissipate later this year. Some plumbers believe it could turn the industry into the wild west. But Governor Abbott said Tuesday in Dallas that he can keep the plumbing board alive without a special session.

“We are exploring all possible options and we look forward to making an announcement to make sure this issue is put to rest,” said Gov. Abbott. “The legislature has provided the Governor several tools like this to be able to address [the issue].

The specifics of the Governor’s plan aren’t clear, but are expected to be announced soon.

Abbott tweeted a message directed toward all Texas plumbers Tuesday, telling them not to worry.
