DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Utility crews performed cleanup duty at several sanitary sewer overflow locations on Thursday following heavy rainfall this week. The East Bank drainage basin experienced overflows of more than 100,000 gallons. Although there is no damage to the city’s water supply, Dallas Water Utilities suggests staying away from contact with any waste material, debris, or water in sewage areas. Zachary Peoples of Dallas Water Utilities stressed that there is no threat to city drinking water. However, people who purchase water from a public water supply are advised to contact their water supply distributor to determine if their water is safe for personal use.
