It Could Get Harder to Remove Confederate Monuments

AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – The process for removing confederate monuments, or any historical statue, could soon be changing in Texas.
The state senate has passed a bill that would require two-thirds of the vote by a city or state governing body to have a monument removed. Senator Brandon Creighton of Conroe is the bill’s author and says “we need to own it outright and then we need to continue to walk and be on that journey and continue to learn from it so that everybody can be educated correctly.”

The Dallas City Council has voted to remove two confederate monuments since 2017.
