FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF)- Presidential Candidate Beto O’Rourke held a town hall and rally for his campaign in Fort Worth Friday. Hundreds of Democratic Supporters packed the Flying Saucer Downtown to hear O’Rourke’s pitch. Mallory Moore said she was excited to see him in person. “I was a huge supporter of Beto when he was running for Senate..the fire is still there, everyone is still just as supportive… he is honestly one of the most authentic candidates I’ve ever seen,” she said.
The former U.S. Representative from El Paso made news during his unsuccessful bid for Senate when he beat Ted Cruz in Conservative Tarrant County by over 3,000 votes. “Together we can do something that alone would be impossible,” O’Rourke said. “I got to join you in that effort and it was the greatest things that I’ve ever been able to do in my lifetime and I’m thankful to you, the people of Fort Worth Tarrant County for leading the way,” he said. O’Rourke even endorsed Fort Worth Mayoral Candidate Deborah Peoples ahead of the municipal elections Saturday.
O’Rourke talked about high quality healthcare, ratifying equal rights amendments, Teacher salaries and even marijuana reform. He also plans to give his first commencement address at Paul Quinn College in Dallas this weekend.
