Fewer Penalties for Pot Possession if Texas House Bill Becomes Law

(WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas House of Representatives is debating a bill that would lower criminal penalties for marijuana.

House Bill 63 would continue to make marijuana possession illegal, but there would be fewer consequences.

Governor Greg Abbott supports lessening criminal penalties for possession of marijuana, but has yet to come out in support of decriminalizing it.

If the bill were to pass the House it would then go to the Senate for further debate.
