MESQUITE (WBAP/KLIF) – A Mesquite police officer accidentally fires his handgun at Horn High School Thursday. Police say the School Resource Officer was inspecting his handgun and unloading it when it went off. Apparently he forgot to eject a round of ammunition from the chamber.
The bullet ricocheted off the concrete floor and then disintegrated. No one was hurt from the incident. But the officer is currently under investigation and will be subject to disciplinary action.
