Dallas Firefighters Endorse Mayoral Candidate, Applaud Commitment to Public Safety

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Fire Fighters Association announced Monday its endorsement of Dallas City Council member Scott Griggs to be the next Mayor of Dallas.

“We’ve thoroughly reviewed all nine Mayoral candidates and Scott Griggs stands out from the group with an invigorating, new plan to push Dallas forward,” said Dallas Fire Fighters Association President Jim McDade. “Scott is focused on having excellent city services that improve the quality of life for all Dallasites, no matter their neighborhood.”

McDade said it was Grigg’s dedication to public safety that gained him the endorsement.

“Scott has prioritized better streets and public safety, greater transparency at City Hall, high-quality development in needy areas, and he’ll hold the line on taxes by targeting wasteful, multi-million-dollar vanity projects like the second Calatrava bridge and the fake white water rapids,” said McDade. “Scott will be the new kind of mayor Dallas needs.”

McDade said the City of Dallas has been lacking a Mayor who “truly values public safety.”

Election Day is Saturday, May 4. Early voting runs April 22 through April 30.
