Court Hearing for Man Charged in Deep Ellum Beating Delayed Until May

Austin Shuffield, 30 (Dallas Police Department)

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A former Deep Ellum bartender charged in connection with the alleged beating of a woman that was caught on tape, was scheduled to make a court appearance Friday but the hearing did not take place.

The hearing had been scheduled for Friday but lawyers wanted it delayed.

30-year Austin Shuffield is accused in the violent altercation with 24-year old L’Donjenique Lee in the early morning hours of March 21. He’s seen viciously punching her, at one point holding a gun.

The incident started because Shuffield reportedly got angry that Lee had blocked a parking which he was trying to exit with her car.

A new court hearing is now scheduled for May 2nd.
