PLANO (WBAP/KLIF) – A family of red tail hawks is occupying the lone light pole on a construction site in Plano.
According to the City of Plano, a construction crew working the Carpenter Park renovation project noticed a red tail hawks nest while taking down the light pole. Experts we’re called out and spotted the parents.
The city said Wednesday that the light pole will stay up until the egg is hatched.
“As long as we don’t drop that pole or go up and disturb them face to face then they will be fine,” said Palno Park Services Manager, Ron Smith.
Smith said more eggs could be laid in coming days.
