ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF)- A specialized Women’s Hospital just opened in Medical City Arlington.
CEO Keith Zimmerman said this was created as a destination women’s hospital, a luxurious and safe place for care. “Smart women in North Texas want a safe place to deliver and a safe place for their baby but they also want to have a luxurious experience and that’s what this hospital provides, safety and all the amenities,” Zimmerman said
The $60 million five-story facility will be able to care for more people with private patient rooms, suites, modern labor and delivery rooms, operating rooms and Level III NICU intensive care beds.
“This specialized Women’s Hospital provides the full continuum of high-level women’s healthcare, from childbirth to gynecology surgery, including access to specialists conveniently located on campus. Our mission is to help women at every stage of life,” Zimmerman said.
Zimmerman said Medical City Arlington has cared for the unique needs of women, including those with high-risk pregnancies and deliveries, for more than 40 years.
The hospital delivers more than 4,300 babies each year, and expects to deliver more than 5,800 babies annually in the new Women’s Hospital.
A list of amenities include:
- A dedicated postpartum floor with 34 private patient rooms
- 4 spacious women’s premier postpartum suites
- 33 women’s services medical/surgical rooms
- 23 modern labor and delivery rooms
- 3 C-section operating rooms
- 35 Level III neonatal intensive care (NICU) beds, including 15 private NICU rooms
- 2 dedicated family overnight stay rooms for NICU patient family members
