McKinney, Highland Village (WBAP/KLIF News) – It’s a day ice cream lovers live for and one those who have had their lives touched by breast cancer can appreciate.
Tuesday, April 9th, is Ben & Jerry’s annual “Free Cone Day” and North Texans can head to the company’s stores in McKinney and Highland Village for a free scoop from 12 to 8 p.m.
The McKinney store is located at 1501 Preston Road and the Highland Village store is located at 4051 Barton Creek.
The company said the stores will be doling out its famous flavors and helping to raise awareness about breast cancer in partnership with the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Each location will also be collecting donations for the foundation.
“We love getting involved with and giving back to our communities. That’s why we’re partnering with Komen North Texas to raise awareness and support breast cancer. We support this local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation because 100% of donations support women in our community. It’s amazing what we can do together over shared values and several scoops of ice cream,” said local Ben & Jerry’s shop owner Hunter Rose.
Local celebrities and politicians will be in attendance throughout the day.
